Shrinky Dinks for my DGD!

My DGD has a witch costume she plays with all year long so I decided to make her some earrings and necklace with it! I priced them at the party store and cricut always comes to mind. I already had some shrinky dink material and couldn't wait to get home to figure out what I could make! This is my creation! My DIL might want to try to make and sell them! Cheap entertainment! More for me than the kids! teehee!

I used the Imagine and flood filled the witch and bat from Happy Hauntings at 3". They shrink up to about 1 1/2". The Imagine cut these like a dream. I'll warn you that you can't use a heat embossing tool because the brooms curl up but if you bake them they don't! I sealed them with Modge Podge Sealer. The black is so heavy if you don't it rubs off! Great fun! Can't wait to give them to DGD this weekend!!

Tip! When printing and cutting on Imagine, the page I used was a 8x10, and it only 2 on a page at 3". I then changed it to 10x10 and you can then get 4 on page at that size! I'm going to do the next batch on my gypsy so maybe even more on a page!! Also had to print this black in draft mode or it didn't dry! I was asked about printing a block in the printer and cutting on cricut, I tried that but it didn't dry either, but maybe it would work also on draft?!

Artiste Create a Critter 2 Night Light!

Hello my friends and hope you had a great long weekend! Probably the last time we'll swim this year at my daughters! Except its still 100+ degrees here in TX! Hope its cooler where you are!

This project was inspired by the Create A Critter 2 contest posted on the cricut.com website. You can find the rules here! The 5 images are only free until Sept. 5th, so you best hurry if you want to enter!

My DGD loves Halloween! anything Halloween! and she loves night lights! so, I combined those 2 ideas and came up with this for the contest!

This was created in CCR! Woohoo! Everything worked! With the E2! Didn't open the Imagine! I am still using build 132 for everything, because the update doesn't play well with the Imagine!

The box is from the CTMH Cricut Artiste cart, page 34. Love that cart! If it doesn't have "it" you don't need it! LOL! If you'd like to purchase one, you can order directly on my CTMH webpage! I stretched it to 11.4 inches wide and long. Makes the box about 4 inches tall and about 2 3/4 inches wide. Perfect size! Each image cut is 2-3 inches tall.  When I welded the images from CAC2 it "hid" the score lines. But thats ok because they usually leave nasty little holes where you don't want them! But it made it tough to know where to fold the top edges to match up! But it came out great! I used black Walmart COLORBOK paper and welded the images to the box. Added a couple of extra little ghosts to add to the top for decoration. Lined it with vellum and colored it yellow behind the haunted house. the fence in front of the ghost is from Haunted House cart! This is the best cart for Halloween! Besides TC Halloween cart, but I don't have that one! The digital one is on sale at Cricut.com if you are interested! That's a great cart, just haven't found anything on it I can't make do with this HH cart! Its tied at the top with some twine from my stash, so she can easily open it to turn the little electric light on inside. The light is one of those that come 3 in a pack and you can get cheap at J's or M's. Can't remember now where I got mine. But they were cheap. Isn't that little ghost just the cutest with that patch! Halloween Home Decor Challenge!

This months challenge on Cricut circle blog is to create a home decor project and include at least 2 different cricut images. Prize is $150! on cricut.com. And its at random! Thats great because I have way too many projects going on right now! We are really buzzing with the Lions Club and fund raisers right now! We had a golf tournament last week, a pancake supper last night, a garage sale/fundraiser for an autistic child with an enormous amount of medical bills, and we're gearing up already for 800+ children on our Angel Tree this year! Need to start my 3 advent trees for my grandkids and a friends child! and my christmas cards! woo! I'm tired thinking about it!
I made DGD Faith and her little sister a monogrammed bag to carry on Halloween, made Faith some jewelry, the bat necklace and the witch earrings. She already has the earrings but forgot her bat necklace so can only show the necklace and a pic I took of the earrings made from Shrinky Dinks!! I've been selling the heck out of those! And I made some lions for Lions club! Sold a ton of those! I can't keep up with those either! but they take the Imagine for color and the E2 for marking and cutting. I'll explain with pic later!

I saved the bat necklace to add to the little triangular box I made from MS Halloween paper and the box on All Wrapped Up, the Boo on the box and the spider (which you can't tell but was distressed with Rangers Distress black embossing, looks awesome on spiders!) is from Happy Hauntings of course, as well as the frame with DGD pic and the bat necklace and witch, which are made from shrinky dinks!! DGD bag was from a pack of 3 I bought a while back for a project I never got around to, real shocker, I know! So made all 3 grandkids a bag. With their drippy names on them! DGS Chance had a skeleton on it and he loved it! The witch, bat and Faith was done with Cool Iron on transfers! they are so easy now when you get the ones for bright or dark colored material. No more peeling!!

If Faith had 1 she had to have something! those brooms are very fragile at that size! If there weren't so many sharp corners it would be better to cut them by hand to keep that part thicker than the I cuts it!

Doorknob hanger for my DGS!

Hello friends! This is another and probably last submission for the Cricut Circle Blogaversary Challenges! This challenge was to use this recipe:  Must contain 1) Title 2)At least 2 cricut cuts and 3) At least 3 buttons. Well, I made Faith the earrings and necklace, so I had to make Chance something. The only thing I could think of is this door hanger that I'd been rolling around in my head since I saw 1 posted about 6 months ago but it was made with the Imagine's Blast Off. I got that out and didn't really need a pocket on it. So I asked my DD what he was going to be on Halloween and he hasn't gotten it yet, but something spooky! So...I decided to make something spooky! And the Halloween kit I found, which I've had probably 2 years!, had all kinds of things in it, including the 3 buttons! I almost fell over! AND I just got cable internet and got to use CCR!!!! woohoo! I was in heaven. Of course everything I wanted to use was on carts I loaned out! But I do have Happy Hauntings and most all of the cuts are from that cart! Of course I used more than 2 cuts!

I used My Community for the door hanger, cut at 7 1/2" and the paper is from the PaperWishes Halloween Kit. the "no trespassing" and skeleton on the bottom of the tag is from Buccaneer. The skeleton in back of the headstone is from JT. The cat, skeleton, spider and web, Enter if you Dare, and bat are all from Happy Hauntings. The spider border and gooey border are MS borders of course! I used Tim Holtz's Stickles in Midnight on the web. Its really shiny and awesome IRL!

Cricut Circle Blogiversary Cuttlebug Challenge

Hello bloggers! The challenges are coming fast and furious at the Circle Blog and I have another entry. The prize for this one is a Yudu CardShop Machine!
The challenge is to use your cuttlebug machine as the main focus and use at least 2 different Cricut Image cuts! Thats a laugh for me because I don't think I've ever made anything with only 2 cuts!! Its just not in me!
I made this card to send to my DGS! What boy doesn' t love Halloween!?

Well if you have been following me very long you know I love easel cards! The embossed haunted house in the background is of course the cuttlebug I used and added some pigment white for depth and highlight. The card base is from a pack of cards and envelopes from Walmart I got on clearance a while back. It looks like its several shades of orange but I guess its the ott light that does that. It doesn't matter what angle I have the camera at! I used my Imagine to create the headstone at 2.5" and flood filled it with Texture Imagine cart. The skull and cross bones was cut at .8" from Buccaneer! Love that cart. So glad I bit the bullet on that one! The hands were from October 31st cart and flood filled with a green from Buccaneer and cut at 1 1/2". I then use Ranger Perfect Pearls in Patina Gray and Green to add some color to them but its not noticeable in the picture. It looks awesome IRL! The fence and grass are from MS punches, as well as the spiders on the border of the phrase mat. Happy Halloween was cut at 1 1/2" from Happy Hauntings. The orange doesn't look like it matches again in the picture. This is the same one I used for Faiths card if it looks familiar! The witch is from Happy Hauntings also, the cloud is from April Showers.

Cricut Circle blog weekly challenge #42: World Card Making Day

Hello friends! I love making Halloween cards for  my grandkids! And especially easel cards! This one is for Faith! She will love it! hope you do too! I made 1 similar to this last year for my DGS and he hung it on his bulletin board and called me and asked several times "how did you do that?!!" He was only 6! He appreciates everything. And he gets so much for Christmas and his birthday and he always remembers who gave him what! even a couple years later, he'll say remember when you gave me this Nana?! don't tell him, but sometimes I don't until he reminds me! So this 1 is for Faith, it was easier because of the Imagine and Enjoy the Seasons, and it doesn't really look as scary to me but Faith will love it anyway!
