Happy V-Day to my DGD!

This is a little valentine box and card I made for DGD! She loves to get things "nana" makes! She likes to ask how to do everything I'd done on it too! It's so cute! Just makes my day! I was so tickled to give her this on Sunday at her birthday party!

I'm going to submit it to the Circle for the monthly challenge also which challenged us to Create a handmade gift for a loved one using your Cricut! and use at least 2 cricut images. I used Imagine Christmas Wish gable box and flood filled it with Blast Off's heart paper (same paper I used on the flower pot card!) It doesn't photograph well. I used "Cricut Stamping cart" for the heart border I welded together in the craft room and cut with Colorbok paper from Walmart. The Love heart image and the little card (also filled with same heart paper on 1 of the hearts and a couple of the papers from Imagine More cards. The little conversation hearts, there are 4 of them around the box, are from "Love Struck 2010". The "love" stamp and heart stamp on the card are from Peachy Keen SOTM for January. Love those stamps! Haven't used them as much as I thought I would but its full of angels!! had to have it! This little gable box is fun to work with! I printed the paper first and then cut only on the Imagine! thats the only way I can keep from getting those borders that I don't like the colors! I don't know how they arrive at the colors of the borders they use but they're horrible! This 1 had a blue border! not happenin!

The Cricut Circle has such timing! I need a couple of get well cards and they gave someplace to start! This is the first 1 I made, for the Circle challenge, Under the Weather.

The Challenge: Create a Get Well card or gift set for a friend, family member, or acquaintance. Be sure to incorporate a Cuttlebug embossing folder, kraft cardstock, and string somewhere on your project.
Rules and Guidelines: Circle Blog Challenges are open to Cricut Circle Members only. Your project must be newly created for this challenge and include at least 2 Cricut Image Cuts.

I used Imagine More Cards for everything on the card except the card base, I used A Childs Year to cut the shape with Kraft paper. I forget how much is on that cart until I do a search! That cart is full of little surprises! I double-printed and cut the whale, the blow hole spout (?!) and the circle behind the whale separately so I could cuttlebug the blue circle mat behind the whale and so I could pop dot the whale and the circle. I added glossy accents to the blow hole to make it look wet.

My third post of the day! DGS birthday card

DGS, Chance's, birthday is this weekend. He's having a swimming party! He loves snakes and sharks! Imagine! Made him a shark valentine for Faith to give him, so I made a snake. Used Imagine More Cards, Birthday Bash for the snake and Blast Off for the colors and the 7. I made the 7 so large because he thinks its a really big deal! The stamp is MPS of course! I used Sports Mania for the grass! I think thats the first time I ever used that cart, I hate to say! Thanks for stopping by again!! Have a great week!

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #20: Love Notes Challenge!

Holy cow, my blogger friends, this is the second completed project today! I'm on a roll now! and have my grandsons birthday card to make yet!

This weeks challenge is to:

Put your scrappy skills to use by creating an extra special note for someone you adore. It can be a friend, your mom, a lover, your child, a neighbor . . . anyone! Your project must include a heart and embossing (we want to see you incorporate those Cuttlebug embossing folders). Project must also contain atleast 2 Cricut cuts to qualify.

A busy card-making weekend!

Hi ladies! Hope you had a great weekend! I had a couple of birthdays and needed 4 cards! The first was for a 1-year old. I forgot to take a picture of the clown card from Wrap it Up! dang it! Came out pretty cute, glittered the hat to bling it up, but it wasn't as cute as this Hip Hippo Hooray card from Birthday Bash and my Imagine in my favorite shade of turquoise! Birthday Bash is 1 of my favorite carts!! The hippo is pink although I'm not sure what color it looks like, that was embossed with Swiss dots and some pink paper from Michaels' package of stock paper. The ribbon is American Ribbon.

 You may want to grab a cup of coffee. Have a couple more cards to show you!

I needed a couple of cards for my SIL, one from my husband and myself and one from my son, who was unable to attend due to having to work. My SIL is a big-time golfer, actually he's a sports fanatic!! But he golfs a lot. This cart and clubs is from Wrap it up, cut twice, once with silver metallic paper for the clubs and once in brown for the bag that was also Cuttlebugged, but I don't know what the name of the embossing folder is! The Ha-p-b-day is from Smiley Cards. I got super lucky with the paper, because I had cut out the bag and phrase at a crop Friday night and hoped I'd have some paper to match at home! and when I got home I found this paper in a Granola 6x6 paper pad that I had received from my Circle pal!! Thanks Circle pal, Beulah!! It's a perfect paper, makes me think of golf balls! LOL!

This "money card/envelope" was printed and cut with the Imagine, the Imagine More Cards cart, page 14. Cut at "fit to page" is a perfect size for gluing the sides of the third layer to the 2nd layer and fitting money in the pocket!! The front is also from the same cart cut at 2 1/2" and a strip of paper cut at 9" and wrapped around the card and velcro'd, but it can just slide off if you don't want or don't have the velcro. I wish I hadn't attached the velcro so low that I couldn't hide the flap but then he wouldn't know it was there! The colors are more vibrant than they are showing up here. I had a gypsy file someone else had designed for this very reason, but this was super easy and you can choose to change all three colors and patterns if you choose! I did change the stripes on the front page from "flowers"! Not exactly what my SIL would have liked!!

Here is my project. Valentine's day is special to us because it was our first date! In HS! We've been together 43 years this year! Unbelievable!

I changed the bluish green page, didn't care for the yellow, I think it was, on there. My husband is a "hog" man. He has a Harley.  He's not a foo-foo kinda guy! And he loves Hershey kisses! So I though "hogs and kisses" was very appropriate!!

I cut the tires and the seat and handle bars from vinyl to more like leather. I think I would have liked this bike better had it had a shadow! (I should have put Harley on the bike too! but my granddaughter is here and don't have time to do it! If she falls asleep early I'll be back! If you don't see it on here when this is posted I didn't get to it! I've got this scheduled to post in time for the hop and not sure I'll make it back!)

My Pink Stamper Design Team Challenge

Robyn "My Pink Stamper" has two openings on 2011 Design Team! I have never submitted any of my projects for a design team opening before but I thought I'd give it a try! I would so love to be on her Team!! Vist her blog at http://www.mypinkstamper.com/ for more information on this challenge/contest.

Her challenge: Make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project using your favorite cartridge and Robyn's favorite colors: Pink, Green, Brown, and optional color of your choice. Well, I have been dying to do something with my Imagine since the holidays and I love the Imagine More Cards! So..here is my submission:

I thought the saying was very appropriate! I had to change up the colors on the cartridge. They had more of a turquoise where I have the green. I love turquoise, it matched the eye on the owl, but she requested green!The color-patterned paper is all on the cart also. No matter what I changed the color of  "be" to, it didn't get dark enough to show up in pics. The card measures 5x5. I printed an extra owl so he could be popped out also! I love the little owl on this cart. My I doesn't cut too well around this without a cream border. I cut it off around the scallop type edge because I was going to distress it anyway but didn't cut it away from owl for fear of making it look worse!

My recipe:
5x10 pink card stock folded in 1/2.

Weekly Challenge #6: Feathered Friends Entry

This came at a very convenient time! I needed a card for my nephew and I always send him money! He's 18 this year! This is a money card that I cut from a file I got from Jamie Lane Designs blog.

The Challenge: The birds are flying south for the winter and we’re heading inside to ”feather” our own nests in preparation for the cooler months ahead.  This challenge is in honor of the birds! Create a project of your choice using a minimum of 2 different Cricut Cuts. Your project must also include a bird of some kind and stitching (machine stitching, hand stitching, or both). 

I used GBS for the holder and slide and Imagine More Cards for the bird and frame. Paper is  DCWV Garden Party Paper pad. Here's my entry!
