My Imagine Match Game!

I needed to make a game for my DGD's for vacation to play at the lake. They love playing match game, with any kind of cards! But I chose to use my Imagine to make a "girly" match game! The Cricut Circle once again inspired me! The monthly challenge for July:

JULY MONTHLY CHALLENGE: Family Fun Challenge!

The WINNER of this challenge will receive a $150 Credit to Cricut.com!

The Challenge: Create an activity or project of some sort with your Cricut products that your family can enjoy together. (Examples: Game, Dessert or Food item with the Cricut Cake, etc.)
Rules and Guidelines: Circle Blog Challenges are open to Cricut Circle Members only. Your project must be newly created for this challenge and include atleast 2 Cricut Image Cuts.

 I used my Imagine and Best Friends cart, Yummy cart and Better Together cart and added the pics to the  mat in every 3" square. I made 14 sets, or 28 cards. Then just cut them with paper trimmer every 3". Worked out great! This is one mat setup.

I then used TBBM2 cart and cut the candy box to fit the cards, which made the box 3.25"x4" with my E2 so it score it for me! Score! yay! love that it scores for you!
I used Mickey Mouse Font for the Match Game on the front. I was in a hurry to leave for the lake, as I did this at the first of the month (and took pics and am just now posting,) so I cut the candy box and the printed the images on the back of a paper from, if I remember correctly, DCVW's Animal Crackers.

This was so much fun making and the girls love the game!!! Especially Faith! She also usually wins!

Well, I'm certainly glad to be back in my craftroom! I've reorganized and totally love it! And now ready to get to work! Vacation is fun and its great to go but its great to be back home isn't it?!!

This poster was already lightly printed with a grid! I didn't know they had them! That was a huge timesaver! I wanted to add some silverware in between the sponsors but my Imagine started having a "spell" again and cutting was way off! I tried calibrating but after 6 times and at midnight! I gave up! It was going to have to be good enough! they loved it anyway. I used Kate's Kitchen for the pancakes! and all other pictures! That cart is awesome! But of course its still not working in CCR so had to cut and print some practice ones and I just used those for the scrapbook page! The letters were cut with Lyrical Letters. It was  a lot of fun making this! And went pretty fast considering all the CCR and calibraion issues!

Silhouette Cameo arrives today!! and Decorative Letter Challenge!

I love how my projects always seem to correlate with the Cricut Circle challenges! This weeks Challenge #54: Decorative Letter Challenge, just so happened to come along when I needed a few cards for the grandkids and family friends' kids! This little "girl" loves dinosaurs and can't believe her baby sister loves dolls! its hilarious to watch her tell her sister she can't bring that "thing" in her house! They are 5 and 2! So I came up with this:

Create a scrapbook page, card, home decor item, or other project where you include a word of your choice. One or more of the letters in your chosen word must be replaced by a Cricut shape. For example, replace the letter “o” in the word LOVE with a heart.
I used CCR and Imagine Hopscotch  for the background and Create a Critter for the title and dino. The dino is on a wobble! She loved it! Oh yea, and the hat is a banner from Imagine Yummy I flipped and added some glitter stars! She's only 5!
In other news on the homefront! I have a Silhouette Cameo arriving today!!! woohoo!! I'll get back to you on that! I love my cricuts but I've been very disappointed in them and CCR lately! and I love the Print and Cut feature on my very testy Imagine so I thought I'd give it a whirl with the Cameo!

Get whale soon!

The Cricut Circle has such timing! I need a couple of get well cards and they gave someplace to start! This is the first 1 I made, for the Circle challenge, Under the Weather.

The Challenge: Create a Get Well card or gift set for a friend, family member, or acquaintance. Be sure to incorporate a Cuttlebug embossing folder, kraft cardstock, and string somewhere on your project.

I used Imagine More Cards for everything on the card except the card base, I used A Childs Year to cut the shape with Kraft paper. I forget how much is on that cart until I do a search! That cart is full of little surprises! I double-printed and cut the whale, the blow hole spout (?!) and the circle behind the whale separately so I could cuttlebug the blue circle mat behind the whale and so I could pop dot the whale and the circle. I added glossy accents to the blow hole to make it look wet.

I couldn't come up with anything until DGD Faith was here this week and she had written a note about her dog her mom and dad had to give to a friend at the end of the year because they didn't have a fenced in yard and he was not a good inside dog, being a dalmation, and she still misses him terribly. His name was Max. And she didn't know what to do with that note. And she had just been looking at some of pics from last year from a trip to Hot Springs with my DD and DGS and then all kinds of things that happened last year. Then the light bulb went off. She LOVES this book that I cut some paper from my stash and added to this "your story" cover and is loving making diecuts to go with the pages! This is what she has done so far, besides blinging the front! I think she enjoyed that most! The little girl and puppy are from Imagine Better Together, the Ipod is from Paisley. The Faith and 2011 on the front cover was printed and cut using vinyl and Blast Off! Love that cart! I'll show you more as she finishes more! She's busy cutting dogs and cakes and presents for her birthday party! I'm amazed she didn't start there!

Happy Fall Ya'll!

I know its felt like fall in the north for a while now, but it has hit us here in N. Texas last night! I'm already freezing and its only 50! Hope ya'll had a great Thanksgiving and ready to get down to business! time to get ready for the Holidays! I need to start thinking about making my Christmas cards and I just can't think of what I want to do this year. I think I'm overwhelmed. I have so many great ideas and can't use them all on 1 card! And a very good friend of mine found out the day before Thanksgiving that she has Lymphoma and has to see her oncologist and start chemo ASAP! So I've been a little down thinking about what she's going to have to go through and couldn't be a worse time! Not that there's ever a good time, but you know what I mean....
Anyhoo! this is my submission for the Cricut Circle monthly challenge for November. The Challenge this month  was to create a project of any kind using "signs/symbol" of fall. It can be any item that brings the fall feeling to you! Must inclue some way of adding texture to your project, whether its using a cuttlebug, distress the edges, ink, stickles, etc and use at least 2 different Cricut cuts.
The prize is $150.00 on cricut,com!

Cricut Circle Blogaversary Sketch Challenge

Hello my favorite bloggers! I'm back with another couple of challenges! I would love to win a new Imagine! The challenge is to use the sketch and 2 different Cricut Image cuts. This is the sketch:

I neededed to send a "miss you" card to my grandson! I really miss him and haven't seen him for several weeks! I used the challenge for the opportunity to make one! He loves alligators, so of course I used Buccaneer! One of my newest favorite carts!

I forgot to take a pic of the inside of the card but he loves sharks as well, maybe more than alligators! so I printed the alligator from this cart also and placed it inside, writing that Faith and I are "whaling" without him! Cause we miss him! He'll love it. He's so appreciative of everything. The little swords were cut at .8", the pirate was cut at 3 and the alligator was cut at 1 1/2", the "arrrrrgh" is cut at 1 1/2". I distressed the edges with Sienna, matched the reddish color pretty well!

Cricut Circle Blogiversary Cuttlebug Challenge

Hello bloggers! The challenges are coming fast and furious at the Circle Blog and I have another entry. The prize for this one is a Yudu CardShop Machine!
The challenge is to use your cuttlebug machine as the main focus and use at least 2 different Cricut Image cuts! Thats a laugh for me because I don't think I've ever made anything with only 2 cuts!! Its just not in me!
I made this card to send to my DGS! What boy doesn' t love Halloween!?

Well if you have been following me very long you know I love easel cards! The embossed haunted house in the background is of course the cuttlebug I used and added some pigment white for depth and highlight. The card base is from a pack of cards and envelopes from Walmart I got on clearance a while back. It looks like its several shades of orange but I guess its the ott light that does that. It doesn't matter what angle I have the camera at! I used my Imagine to create the headstone at 2.5" and flood filled it with Texture Imagine cart. The skull and cross bones was cut at .8" from Buccaneer! Love that cart. So glad I bit the bullet on that one! The hands were from October 31st cart and flood filled with a green from Buccaneer and cut at 1 1/2". I then use Ranger Perfect Pearls in Patina Gray and Green to add some color to them but its not noticeable in the picture. It looks awesome IRL! The fence and grass are from MS punches, as well as the spiders on the border of the phrase mat. Happy Halloween was cut at 1 1/2" from Happy Hauntings. The orange doesn't look like it matches again in the picture. This is the same one I used for Faiths card if it looks familiar! The witch is from Happy Hauntings also, the cloud is from April Showers.

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #38: Vacation Memories Challenge!

Hello Friends! Back from another challenge! I took a quick break from the Lions club scrapbook (ALMOST finished!!) to enter this challenge for a small prize of $25! but that would buy a Project cart, right?!! I am so behind on scrapping our Cruise pics and this may have given me the bug to get started!!
The Challenge "is all about tackling those vacation photos before they get lost in a drawer or shoved in a box somewhere. We want you to create a scrapbook page or mini album recording one of your vacation memories from this past Summer. Weren’t able to sneak away . . . that’s okay! Find some photos from a past vacation that you haven’t scrapbooked yet and get busy! " We can’t wait to see what you create! But can you believe we didn't go anywhere this year yet!? We are going to St Louis next week for a few days but that isn't really a vacation! To me anyway! I want beaches or scenery! My husband retires in 7 weeks (yikes!) and we are planning a trip to Hawaii to celebrate 40 years of marriage and retirement. We will wait until my daughter and her family can go next July probably! Thats ok! as long as we go! So these are pics from our 35-year anniversary cruise we took with some dear friends to the Southern carribbean! These of course are just a few of the hundreds of pics we took between us and our friends. Sure wish I'd discovered scrapbooking 40 years ago!!Got a lot of catching up to do.

Cricut Circle Challenge #37: Technique Challenge Submission

The challenge this week on the circle blog is to use a technique that one of the design team members used the previous week. I chose to use Suzanne's technique to cut shapes from vellum and use the cuttlebug machine to emboss. I've had this design on my gypsy for a while because I was beginning to think "Christmas cards!" That is already miles ahead of last year. I was determined not to wait a week before Christmas before finishing my cards! The design is always the hardest part for me! This challenge gave me the opportunity to try out my design. I will change a couple of things I think, but this one was perfect for the challenge.

 Isn't she pretty!? I love angels! Half my home's decor is angels! One of my bathrooms is angels! 
Recipe:
Joys of the Season cartridge (one of my favs for Christmas!) for the card base and angel and wings. The wings were cut with the vellum and then embossed with Holographic embossing powder as well as the angel boy. I had to add a little fairy dust to the Holographic to add a little color to distinquish it from the gold on the base. I should have used white for the angel, but I was on a roll with the gold! :-) That holographic embossing powder by Ranger is awesome!
Gold metallic paper is from Collections.

Cricut Cuttlebug and embossing folder to emboss the card, wings and angel window. I think the folder is called "divine swirls"? I wrote the name on most of them, but I guess I thought I'd remember that one! of course, I didn't! After embossing the background I used gold MS cats eye pigment dye to highlight the swirls that look like clouds to me! and also used it on the outline of the card base. Card base is a cream color of HL cardstock paper pack.
Hope I've inspired you to maybe start your christmas cards! And check out the holographic embossing powder if you are into embossing! If you're not, this might change your mind on applying it! I was a little intimidated to try embossing but I loved this shine so much I had to try! Now I use it every chance I get!!

Well, I was afraid just the angel and wing would only count as 1 cut and rules stated 2 so I added this embellishment from All Wrapped Up, cutting it with my E2! That's one of the good things about the E2! The glittery paper is from DCWV Linen Closet and the glitter paper used for "rejoice" is from DCWV Flower Glitter 4x6 stack. You can't see it very well in the pic but the glitter on the background of rejoice matches the angel! Perfect! It was tough getting the "Rejoice" cut at that size with that thick glitter paper! took about 5 different settings on the E2 to get it right. Kept cutting off the e's. If someone needs the settings to get this right, just email me or post a comment requesting that info. That glitter paper in that stack is pretty thick. Cricut Circle Monthly Let's Eat challenge!

Hello Friends!!
Time once again for the monthly challenge at the Cricut Circle Blog! I've told you numerous times that I'm working on the scrapbook for the Lions Club outgoing Pres. and this month the challenge on the blog was to create something with a BBQ, Picnic, or Patio theme, AND a gingham or check pattern. Well, that announcement made my day!! I'd been working on one of the Texas Lions Camp pages for the scrapbook and of course its at camp! so it helped me decide what to do with the picnic table on the page!! These are very busy pages because they are very busy at Lions Camp! Its a camp for disabled and/or diabetic children that is owned and operated by the Lions Club, I'm proud to say! Lions club is all about glasses for kids but there is also this camp that a disabled child can go for a week and learn and do things they never thought possible. When we have our yearly meeting with the school nurses to encourage parents to utilize this free camp there are parents that volunteer to come with their child that has been to camp to speak to the nurses as well. Well, there is never a dry eye in the house because these kids come to tell us they "learned to ride a bike when they never dreamed it was even possible!" Or swim or horse back ride! There are tons of things to do, everyone there has a handicap as well as they all learn together! Its awesome. If you know a handicapped or diabetic child in the state of Texas they too can go for free!

Well, Blogger is having a tantrum I guess again and can't load a close up of the page with the gingham table cloth. I'll try again shortly because thats the page I want to load on the Circle Blog site. I had forgotten to take the picture before I added the pics to the page so I have covered faces using Photoshop Elements. They weren't bad pics!
I used several carts and my Imagine for this layout.  The paper is DCWV Green Stack. The Wood looking paper is from a stack of hodge podge papers I picked up at CK Convention last year from Little Yellow Bicycle. They had a sale where you could fill a box for $20. It held probably 200-300 12x12 papers at least and I filled it to the brim! That was the busiest booth in the center, beside Tim Holtz' booth! The wheelchair is from one of the Paperdolls carts, I use both of them a lot! The #1 badge is from American Alphabet I think on the E2.The papers were from Michaels package paper of 8 1/2 x 11. I should have written all this stuff  down! The lettering for Texas lions Camp is from Old West, paper is again from the hodge podge of paper! The cute little tent with the cute little boys is from Nate's ABC's! I flocked the little doggie with Martha Stewart flocking! Love that stuff! The little girls, the sun, the owl,  and the birdie on the tent are from Better Together and Imagine More and done on my Imagine! Love it! The little cooler and the picnic bench is from an SVG that was in a kit called "Panda Picnic Party" from www.svgcuts.com. I bought it because of the picnic table. I don't have a cart with a picnic table!! It had a bunch of cute little things for picnicking! The sunglasses is from Best Friends. The cookie jar is from Kate's Kitchen. The wheelchair and the bike was cut using a metallic paper so they look really cool in person! And vinyl for the tires!

And last but not least and the whole reason for posting this is the gingham paper! Its from DCVW Flower Power Paper stack and was cut by hand! hence, the reason its cockeyed but I figure a tablecloth's corners are never straight and even anyway!! But it looks cute anyway! I thought so anyway! I'm going to try to post that pic here! Woohoo! it worked.

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #35

My Submission for the Cricut Circle Patriotic Pride Challenge!

The Challenge: Whether you are from the United States, Canada, Australia or somewhere else, we want you to show us your Patriotic Pride with this next challenge! Create any type of project (scrapbook layout, card, home decor, . . . it’s up to you!) showing off your patriotic spirit!

I used "A childs year" cart for the pop-dotted fire engine and "firecracker girl", the girl was just holding the star and a popsicle, but I cut off the popsicle and turned it into a sparkler! It isn't showing up very well in this pic, the stars were cut out of glitter paper with my MS star border punch! Worked perfectly! Looks great in person! Isn't that little fire engine adorable! The pop-dotted "Celebrate" is from MS All Occasions cart. The paper was printed from a digital page I had. It had a vintage feel and matched the colors to my Imagine cart "JT!". the fire engine looks more red than it is in this pic too. In person it looks more vintage colored red, as is the background red.

Of course she loved it and thought she even patted his "belly" it was so close to her, so she says! Love to see the imagination of this child. Its so beautiful to see!

My submission for June Monthly Challenge: On the Road Again!

Hope y'all had a great weekend! I did! Got lots of scrapbooking done, mostly for the Lions Club Scrapbook. I didn't realize we had so much to cover!! So I've been using my gypsy a lot and still use DS and my trusty Expression along with the E2 and the Imagine to create lots of borders. The most fun was the high heel border we made for the garage sale. It came out so stinking cute we decided to save it for a woman's scrapbook next year. This year the Pres was a man and figured out he wouldn't "love" the high heels like we do! So I made a boot border. It came out much more masculine and still cute!

Well, as mentioned on the Circle blog, for a lot of us summertime means ROAD TRIP! For this challenge, they wanted us to create something . . . ANYTHING for your car! It can be a travel game, travel activity, organizer, whatever! Let your imagination run wild.

We are going to Hawaii for our 40th wedding anniversary after my husband retires in November, so this was a great opportunity to start my journal for the trip! Thats one reason I love this blog!

So I created this journal, from a "Strathmore Visual Journal"! I can't wait to start filling it! I'm going to start researching where we want to visit and keep it in this journal! I wish I'd thought of this on our first trip for our 25th anniversary, but I wasn't even into scrapbooking then!

I used "Life is a Beach" cart for all of the images and Post -It Craft Paper that I purchased at J's. Love that stuff! Just cut and stick! I have several colors and the variety pack and white, in case I want to print and cut something with the Imagine!

 The paper is from DCVW Nana's Kitchen. The glitter paper is from Walmarts glitter stack. The ice cream and cupcake and   "celebrate " and "enjoy tag " are from Cricut Imagine Yummy. I used "Delta Ceramcoat Sparkle Glaze " mixed with Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Ink "tea dye " to make the chocolate drizzled on the ice cream! It looks really cool! Looks like chocolate with glittery sprinkles!! I tried to upload the picture of it but blogger is not functioning again! Lucky I got this pic before it crashed!

Martha Stewart Ink around edges. The label is no longer on it so I'm not sure what the name of the colors are, but there are 6 colors in a cat's eye shaped stack. I've had them forever and they still work, I can't believe they haven't dried up because the caps aren't tight.

The Title was cut at 2.5" , the bib and its a boy at 1 1/2 ", the onesie at 1 1/2 " I think and the sun cut at 3 ".

So my DGD Faith and DGS Chance wanted to help me! Faith took the video and Chance wanted to help! Can you tell what a help he was!  They are so much fun! DGS is 7 and DGD is 6. We have a ball!

So here's the final pic with Chance. I don't think Faith stood still long enough to get a good picture at all and Chance only got Faith! He cut off my head! Probably looks better that way, but I think they have to see me!! LOL!

Woohoo! I won honorable mention for my "You make my heart sing" card on the Cricut circle Blog!! I won a package of replacement blades for my Imagine and Expression. Of course, I just picked some up yesterday because they were on sale at HL. Thats Ok!! I go thru a lot of them!! They chose 1 card at random and  then 3 for "catching their eye"! Weekly Challenge #14: Getting In Shape!

According to polls, “getting in shape” is among the Top Ten Resolutions people make each New Year’s Eve. Let’s do it! Let’s start the New Year off right by getting in shape . . . a shape other than a rectangle. We challenge you to create a project in a shape other than a square or rectangle. Your project must also include a number somewhere and bling of some kind (to go along with this week’s theme of  “Blinging in the New Year”!
Project must be newly created for this challenge and must include atleast 2 different cuts from any Cricut cartridge to qualify. This challenge is open to Cricut Circle Members only. Submit your entry using the InLinkz tool found at the bottom of this post. Please post your full name along with your entry. You must submit a project to be entered into the drawing. Entries are due by 11:59 pm MST on Thursday, January 6th, 2011.. This week the winner will receive a Circle Scarf of their choice or $25 added to their Cricut.com account. I'm finally back in the swing of things and somewhat got my mojo back. I was getting worried! All this equipment and toys and couldn't think of a thing to play with! Well I'm sure glad I got something back, not sure if its mojo!! I actually did 2 projects today! Woohoo! I can do a lot when I don't sleep!

So here's my blinging shape!

 This is a "bonus" purse shape card on Imagine's Better Together. I had made a bracelet for a friend's 18 year old granddaughter and I hadn't seen her yet so I used it as a prop for more "bling"! The flower that I added to the bag and the high heel on the bracelet (which I created with shrinky dinks!) is also from Better Together, also bonuses! The butterfly is from Lori's Garden. I "stickled" it up with red and green and added the bling to the closure on the card, posing as a handbag! This is printed at 8", but it would make a great gift card holder as well!

Cricut Circle Monthly Challenge entry

I created the bracelet, box and card for this months Cricut Circle challenge. The December Monthly challenge is Holiday Gifts. Here are the rules:

• Use at least 2 Cricut Cuts
• Use a tag made with a cartridge (there are so many great tags on so many cartridges!)
• Use the color red somewhere.
• Use ribbon.
• Use a phrase from one of the cartridges.

I used Snow Angel, an Imagine cart, to make charms with Shrinky Dinks for the bracelet for a friends granddaughter. After she saw the one I made for Faith she wanted one for her granddaughter too! but this time I cut them out by hand! The tag is from Snow Angels at 2" and Merry Christmas is on the tag. The red box I created using Snow Angel and Wrap it Up pillowbox that I used the "hide contour" to hide the flower cutout. It was only cut at 4". The bracelet is so small it was the perfect size! The bracelet has 4 of the Imagine cuts on it.

My entry for Cricut Circle Blog weekly challenge!

I'm back with another entry for the Cricut Circle blog's weekly challenge! Had to choose 3 of 5 choices of pin, ruffles, scallops, glitter and jewels. I hope you can tell I chose glitter, pink and scallops! I used Lacey Labels for the scallop and Imagine Better Together for the cute little cupcake. I ran the cupcake paper through my crimper and I used red stickles for the cherry on top! The pink glitter paper is from Walmart.
